In anticipation of the opening of our new site, the Canal Courts, we held a social get together in downtown Akron’s Historic Arts District last evening. The weather was amazing, and the turnout was even better! We opened up a tab so the first 20 people to show up got a free drink of their choice. Thanks to a distributor from Tramonte, there was also a plentiful amount of complimentary Corona Premier!
The gathering started around 5:30 pm and things didn’t fully wind down until after 9pm. Participants from various past and future came out to hang out, meet up with old friends, and get to meet their future foes for upcoming leagues. The newly renovated patio had folks playing giant Jenga, and inside we had cornhole and KanJam set up. Hannah Troyer was our DJ for the evening, spinning an all vinyl set of funk, hip-hop, and other awesome tunes.
On top of the games, the Musica team also had drink specials specially made for us. The “Good Sport” was a vodka lemon refreshing springtime spritzer, and the “Bad Sport” was our unique version of a whiskey sour. We had 7 pizzas from Zubs which were quickly devoured by the hungry attendees.
Last but not least, we held an Instagram photo content, where a random winner was picked to win a brand new Spikeball set. Congratulations to Amy who works at First Energy for randomly being selected to win the kit!
