A big old fun announcement here for our Summit Sports and Socialite friends…

We have partnered with the West Akron Baseball & Softball League (WABL) to create the West Akron Kickball League.

With the help of WABL and their organizers, we are creating an adult recreation kickball league that will be played on Sunday afternoons/evenings at the two best WABL fields Akron has to offer, Akron RubberDucks Field at Forest Lodge Field and the softball field adjacent to The Northwest Family Recreation Center.

The fields are pristine, the fun will be had for all, and we (Summit Sports and Social) will be donating a portion of our league dues back to WABL to help further all of their wonderful efforts for youth baseball and softball here in Akron.

Ok ok, so what’s it called?

WAKL, of course.

Ok amazing name, but what are the details for the league?

We will dive into the rules and regulation of the league but here are the major points you need to know:

• Co-ed teams comprised of a minimum of 10 people, you can roster up to 15 players, there must be a minimum of 4 girls are the field at all times.
• $50 per player which includes: T-shirt, Umpire dues, a 7 game schedule, and drink/food specials from our lovely sponsors (TBA).
• Game times will range from 4:30pm-7:30 pm depending on how many teams we have signed up
• The league will begin on July 28 and run through early September, the league should end before the Browns really get rolling.

Our goal for this league is to make this approachable and fun all participants. We always encourage our teams to be competitive, but we have zero tolerances for jerks or people who fight with umpires. So with all of that being said, if you are interested, here is how you sign up!

Registration:

We need your team captain to fill out the form HERE. If you’re an individual looking to join a team, fill out the “free agent form” found HERE. We cannot guarantee individuals who sign up on the “free agent form” will be placed, but we’ll do our best and have had success in the past.

After you sign up, we will be reaching out to you directly with instructions about how to sign up the rest of your squad, the official rules, t-shirt sizes, all of that fun stuff.
